What happens when you come.

  1. 1

    Come during opening hours

    Friday 4–7 p.m., Saturday 12–3 p.m. or Sunday 12–3 p.m. There’s nothing to book beforehand.

  2. 2

    Say it’s your first time

If you haven’t been to a Toronto food bank before, someone will take you through registering. It’s a short conversation, and you don’t have to say why you need food.

  3. 3

    Give your details

Daily Bread’s shared registration asks for name, address, and date of birth for you and anyone in your household. Bring ID for household members you’re registering.

  4. 4

    Take your groceries home

Fresh produce, a fridge of greens, milk, eggs and bread, plus tins and dry goods. What’s in changes week to week, so we can’t promise any one item. Bring bags or a cart if you can.

Registering, once.

Toronto food banks share one client registration through Daily Bread. You can do it at our door, or online before you come.

Asked before a first visit.

Where the answer is Daily Bread’s network rule rather than ours, it’s quoted from dailybread.ca.

Do I need ID to get food?
Not for yourself, under the rule of the Daily Bread Food Bank network we belong to: “No ID is required for you but if you are registering household members you should bring ID for them when you arrive.” So bring ID for anyone in your household you're registering, and nothing else.
Do I need an appointment or a referral?
There's nothing to book beforehand. Daily Bread’s listing for us records no appointment requirement and no catchment restriction. Come to 2107 Weston Rd during opening hours, Fri 4–7 pm · Sat & Sun 12–3 pm.
How much food will I get?
Two to three days' worth, in Daily Bread Food Bank's own description of what its member food banks provide: “Food banks may provide 2 to 3 days' worth of food, based on the number of people in your household. Expect a mix of fresh, frozen, and non-perishable foods.” What's on our shelves at 2107 Weston Rd changes week to week, so we can't promise any one item.
Do I have to register first?
Toronto food banks share one client registration through Daily Bread, and you can do it at our door on your first visit or online beforehand at dailybread.link2feed.ca. It asks for name, address, and date of birth for you and anyone in your household.
Should I bring anything?
Bring bags or a cart if you can, because the groceries include fresh produce, milk, eggs, bread and tins. If you have nothing to carry them in, come anyway.
Can someone come with me?
Yes. Someone can come with you if that helps, and you never have to tell us why you need food.

If today isn’t one of our days.

We’re closed Monday to Thursday. Call either of these to find a food bank that’s open today.
